Coy Potts - GIS Professional - Chicago Market
While working under Dr. Barry Kronenfeld from Eastern Illinois University, I was tasked with mining through various journal articles to collect data on over 40 specimen of Apis cerana (Asian honey Bee), and compiling the data into an Access database. Once every sighting of the honey bee had been accounted for, the data was exported into an Excel sheet in order to then be imported into ArcMap for geospatial manipulation. The map below displays the general distribution of each type of species throughout the Asian region of the world. This map is to be used in a journal that is currently being constructed in a joint project between Dr. Kronenfeld and a few other colleagues of his from China.
